I am rebuilding my A4LD, using Glacier991's diary and the ATSG manual as references. Both recommend replacing all of the snap rings, but I cannot find a parts source for them. I checked with my local dealer, and they can order the parts, but I would have to buy 4 at a time because that's how they order them, which would turn $40 worth of snap rings into something like $170, and I would end up with a bunch of extras that I will never use. I have checked all the transmission parts suppliers I can find online, and none list the snap rings. Does anyone have a source for these things? I really don't want to reuse the old ones, but I have all the rest of the parts I need, and the snap rings are all that's keeping me from reassembly!
