is the torque converter for the 3.0l with a A4LD the same 1 that would be behind a 4.0l?

so what would that do for a 3.0l then with the explorer 4.0l in there then?

The stall speed could be determined when you have one foot on the brake pedal, and the other on the throttle. It will climb to a certain amount of RPMs, and not go any higher on this kind of test. If it does, then it means that the torque converter has slippage, and is defective. Think of the torque converter as an automatic clutch which couples the engine, and the transmission. The HP, torque, and shift points are based on the stall speed being factored in to the equation. Custom tuning could help along with the correct stall speed of the torque converter for a specific engine-transmission match.
