Just curious if anyone used the Firm drill sizes for the Transgo kit on the A4LD and what was their opinion of the shifts? I called Transgo and they just said to drill them to the small size. I have always liked quick shifts but I don't want them rough on this transmission.

I installed the Transgo kit in each of my A4LD's, a 91 and 93. Those kits are not "shift kits", they are system correction kits, the shifts will not be harsh.

I always select the firmest shift when installing a Transgo sysko kit, do that and you will still wish that they were firmer.

Here's a good unknown tip that I learned about nine years ago for my 91 XLT. Before you get to doing the work, go and find a vacuum modulator pin from an old Chrysler trans, old as in the early 70's model. Take your old one to compare with if needed. What you want is to find one which is identical except longer. Cut and file it down in length to be 1/8" longer than the A4LD modulator pin. Install that instead of the stock pin, that will add just a tiny bit more firmness to the 1/2 shift. Good luck,

Thanks for the reply. I like to feel my shifts so the firm setting it is.
