I got the VB out for the 3rd time now.Tore every valve out but 213-216.Found nothing wrong.I did find a piece of glue/gasket covering a port in the seperator plate but I dont think it was from the tranny but from where I set it down, but not sure. When I drained the fluid this time, not much came out so maybe I didnt have enough fluid in there both times. Not sure.Only 2 maybe 3 quarts came out.I put a gauge on it and it pegs in reverse approx 140 psi.The gauge goes to 100 psi but was on the stop which looks to be 140 so thats not the issue as far as pressures or pump failure.Ialso put in a drain plug to save on the grief and all the $%#%%^$ words.I will put the VB back in, retorque it and see what that gets me.I also torqued the seperator plate to the VB to 90 inch pounds which I didnt do before.I just tightened them down.Maybe that was an issue there.

Not worried about the gauge but at least I saw pressures there. Its got reverse now so I am happy.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention what I missed during my VB rebuild.I kept looking up into the low reverse servo bore and couldnt see the shiney spot for the band anchor.Being dark out and no daylight to change my viewing, I could see nothing in the hole but a slight part of the anchor showing. The band must have slipped a bit when I had the tranny sitting on the bell in my shop.Got a small alignment pin up there and found the anchor.Amazing what you find in the dark.I kinda got a clue of that before the last time I pulled the pan off, it wouldnt go into low either. This thing shifts sweet. No slipping but actual banging in every gear.I can feel and hear every shift now.Even OD feels real tight with that bigger governor weight.I love this forum. So much good info. Now I have a drain plug in the pan, but hope to not have to take it off but for a service in 30K or so.Thanks a ton Glacier.I will have your tool and cash to you soon.

Glad to hear it all worked. Was frustrating for me too.... I suppose you could hear that in my voice during the telephopne call today... Glad you got it all worked out.

It all worked out.I had to be patient.I really needed to get this explorer going since gas is getting really spendy for my turbo car at over 3.00 a gallon for super. Now to get it to the exhaust shop to finish my exhaust with a new tailpipe since i have no way of bending pipe that big.

One more thing to add.I have 4X4 low range now.I think the transfercase was bad as well so I used the good one from my wrecked explorer. Also the BOO works now as it shifts down like it should when I am cruising about 45-50.It didnt do that with the old tranny in there.Dam I am happy.

I just did my exhaust. Stock replacement muffler and resonator from Kragen, and the tailpipe I picked up at Midas cash and carry. I think the whole shebang ran me about $125.

I got maybe $100 or so into mine with a cat and a flowmaster with about 2 feet of 2.50 in pipe in between.Sounds good but kinda loud without the tailpipe on there.I will be getting that done tomorrow hopefully.I did drive around today.Tranny shifts good.Pulled my dirtbikes and trailer, no problems.I am happy as can be now.
