Well,,, first of all I just wanted to say that I just hit 90K miles on our "X" and the only things I have replaced are the following: Battery, Front and rear brakes and rear rotars, tires and thermostat and its been very reliable RIG.

Now the big question:
Ok,,, I just noticed that every time I turn the ignition on the gas guage shows FULL TANK and after about 10 minutes,,, It finally moves to where the gas is supposively at, but very, very, very slowly it does. Now why is my gas guage doing this?

Is there such thing as a gas guage switch?? Or is there an floater in the gas tank that might be worn out???

I have no idea... I let the pros answer this one. Any info or tips it be cool!

Thanks
Mike

If the gauge eventually shows the correct reading, I'd say your sending unit is probably okay. My guess would be the fuel gauge amplifier. This module plugs into the back of the instrument cluster, and its purpose is to average the reading from the sending unit. This is supposed to prevent needle fluctuations due to the gas sloshing in the tank.
