? about spark plugs

I have a 93 explorer xlt 4.0 auto. I want to change the spark plugs but I am unsure of what kind to buy, my haynes repair manual says one thing, motorcraft.com says another, I want to get them changed cause i am almost at 100,000 and they are probably the original. I'm actually going to take it to a shop tommorrow because i think I have an exhaust leak, the truck seems to be loosing power, like it wants to stall almost, could this be the plugs, or possibly the exhaust?

Motorcraft double platinum plugs. Change the wires too, I used Motorcraft.

Both an exhaust leak and old ignition parts can lead to engine trouble.

I just installed Bosch platinum +4s and love them. just ask your local retailer to look it up and they should get it right.

I would stick with Motorcraft Double Plat plugs.

I use aftermarket wires, Jacobs, and have had good luck.

I installed the Bosch Pla +4s too

I track my mileage, and boy has it dropped every since I changed the plugs! I know lots of people on this site love them, but for my truck I'm switching to Motorcraft plugs this spring... once the temperature is above my age (27).
I also have the Jacobs 8mm wires.

How much power loss is an exhaust leak going to cause? My exhaust is getting noisy and want to replace it, but if it's robbing my power I'll have to work on getting it replaced sooner!

I would think safety ( CO ) would be a more important consideration.

Well I took the ex to the shop today, and when I went to pick it up they said no exhaust leak, but cylinder no 5 has low compression, he saved me the spark plug and I'm no car mechanic but even I knew that spark plug was not working, because it was so gunked up. The guy said I would have to rebuild or get another engine, he also said it was driveable but I would have to replace the no 5 plug every 6 months or so. My question to you guys is where is no 5 located at on my engine if I am standing in front of the vehicle. 1993 4.0 auto. Thanks in advance

I was looking at my haynes manual, but could not figure out where the no 5 cylinder is located, Does anyone know where it would be if I was standing in front of the vehicle. Thanks
