??? about Sway bar disconnect

I was thinking about doing the quick disconnect on the front sway bar, but I was wondering by disconnecting them during offroading does this increase the possability of roll overs like when you are on a trail that leans to either the driver or passengerside just curious ... thanks

I'd like to know too. That's the reason I have never disconnected mine. It seems to me it would make it easier to roll over...

It decreases the possibility of roll over on a trail. Sway bars are designed to hinder your suspension flex. If flex is hindered, it's possible your suspension won't move enought to allow your tires to stay in contact with the ground. If you lift a tire, your vehicle becomes very unstable and might flip.

Marty, it would help prevent a roll especially with the ttb front axle. As some one said above it enables the front wheels to flex better and stay in contact with the ground. It would not have made a difference though a few weeks ago when you came close climbing out of that bowl.

What do you mean it wouldn't have made a difference when I almost rolled it coming out of the bowl? so if it was disconnected it would have still been the same then. not worse? I want to do mine since I saw how easy yours were to do. I just didn't want to make it easier to roll if I do disconnect.

I dont see how it would have been worse with them disconnected. The reason was that you were on fairly level ground, just extremely off camber. The swaybars disconnected would prevent rolling on different angles where the tire is on, for example if 1 tire was on a rock and the other was on the ground. With the bars connected the explorer would tend to rock because the wheel could loose contact w/ the ground and will make the explorer more unstable. Its kind of confusing
