i am seriously considering purchasing a 2010 explorer XLT. It is in decent shape, has 113K miles. Took it for test drive yesterday. It has front and rear air. While driving it the airflow out of the front vents slowly disappeared. You could retrieve it by shutting the system off and turning it back on with the fan on high. However after about 15 minutes it slowly disappears again. The temperature was not affected, does the same thing either hot or cold temp setting, and you can hear the fan running just no air flow. Also there appears to be airflow coming from outside the vehicle into the vehicle somewhere behind the glove box, because at speeds over 50 mph it sounds like wind getting past old door seals from that area right up next to the windshield. I’m thinking the two things are correlated and wondering how expensive the repair will be. Anyone seen this before? Thanks for reading this post and any help you would like to share!
