I know there are other threads about this but my problem is slightly different. My abs come on all the time when braking at slow speed on my 2001 explorer sport. It started out every once and a while now its all the time. I noticed when they come on the steering wheel turns to the right too. My abs and check engine lights are off. The abs light came on for a bit one day. When it came on the problem stopped. Once it went off, it returned. I know I need to scan it but it costs $80 and I'm worried it won't show the problem since no lights are on. I hear it can be bad/dirty sensor but first I have to find which wheel then I heard 9 times out of 10 they break when removing them since they're in the hub. What can I do?

If it's a 2 wheel drive there's a sensor in the top/front of the diff' at the rear of the car, at the end of the driveshaft, between the rear wheels. Follow the wire across the top of the diff', to the sensor. This will likely be your problem.

Parts $ 21.

You can do a resistance test across the two pins in the sensor. I got an open circuit on mine, changed sensor and all now fixed. Good luck.

i had the same problem on myne and i replaced the 2 front wheel bearing and the sensor on the diff, and it is working properly now

Mine's 4WD. The two front sensors are in the hub.
