I know this has been discussed on other threads but I am a little confused. My ABS system activated every time I come to a stop. I do not have an ABS warning indicator turned on so it seems to me like the computer thinks everything is working correctly. One thing I am curious about, someone has put on a different size set of tires from what was supposed to be on. It came out with P225/70R15 but now it has P235/75R15 cold this be the cause? I know that wrong size tires can throw off the speedometer. I just bought the vehicle so I don't know the history. I do know the speedometer seems to be correct, at least as near as I can tell with my gps.

I havre also saw posts about cleaning the sensors but I have not found any pictures on what to do. Does anyone have any more information? This is the 4x4 model if that makes any difference.

Thanks,
Jerry

Wow, I thought I was going crazy. My 97 Sport is doing the same thing. Hope someone has some ideas on this, other than learning to live with it. I have the same size tires, 235/75. didn't know they weren't the factory size.

OK, to follow up my own post, since I found out I wasn't the only person with this problem, I did a quick site search. Seems to be pretty common. Either the sensors are going, which means replace the hubs(great, just what I needed to hear) or it is because of the tires. My front tires are not the same brand as the rear, so maybe that is the problem. Only thing is I can't really afford to take care of either thing right now. Hopefully it is just the tire size and nothing about to die, but with my luck I'll probably lose a hub now that I know about this.
And to the o/p, you can't clean the sensors on a 4x4 from what I have just read.

That's my problem as well. The tires that are on there are pretty new and I sure don't want to replace them needlessly. I just don't know what to do next to troubleshoot the issue. It does seem that since your tires are oversized as well and having the same problem that makes me think that might be the issue.
