Common problem

I just replaced the rear ABS sensor. Get under your vehicle and look for a cable on the top of your dif. The cable is attached to the rear ABS, remove the single bolt and the disconnect the switch. BTW the switch cost about $23 at the dealer (Motorcraft). The guy at m dealership knew the price off the top of his head. When I asked if it was a high fail item, hsi reply was the same sensor is used on the Expo, Expedition, Mounty and I think the Escape. Seams to be the main cause of a few ABS lights. Hope this helps.

before you throw money at the problem you might want to get the code pulled and see what is what

Hatch lamp assembly

I need a new light assembly that goes on top of the hatch on my 94 explorer. It's also called the third light. What is technical name for it and where can it be purchased?

Tnx George

Third brake light is the most common

My ABS light has been on for the last couple months. Finally took it in, they replaced the Hydraulic Control Unit (~$1800) and found water in the Electronic Control Unit (~$1000) and some wiring problems. Don't know what happened to the wires or how water got in the ECU. Luckily, the ECU was salvagable, just dried it out and cleaned it. They repaired the wiring and replaced the HCU. Gonna cost $178. Thank god for the extended warranty. It has now paid for itself. I usually turn them down when they try to sell them to me and I initially did with this one too. My wife thought it was a good idea. I guess I should be thanking her too.
