I recently started towing a small camper trailer with my '04 Eddie Bauer. I fitted a brake controller to operate the trailer brakes and it works just fine.
My issue is that after around 30-40 minutes, usually after I've been pulling uphill, the ABS light comes on, even though I'm not using the brakes at the time.

I keep wondering if there's any connection between the ABS warning light and the the transmission temperature as I'm pulling the trailer up a 30 mile incline into the Front Range?
Seems a daft assumption, but since there aren't other warnings for a high transmission temperature, I wondered if this might be the way that Ford provided the information to the driver?
The manual doesn't provide any information and neither does my Haynes.
If anyone's got some insight, I'd be very grateful, thanks.

Do you have any diagnostic trouble codes(dtc's) in the computer?
