My local mechanic didnt have the tools to pull the ABS code, so I'm hoping my symptoms indicate where the problem lies. When I start the truck (4.0L manual) and keep my foot on the brake, no lights. As soon as I lift my foot from the brake (even without moving, with or without the truck in gear, etc) the ABS light immediately illuminates and stays on until I turn off the motor. No other symptoms other than ABS not working at all, obviously. No e-brake light, just the ABS light. Anyone have any idea what the problem might be or where I should start?

I have the exact same problem, but i havent had any trouble yet (knock on wood). But it did turn off after I discovered that there was one less fuse in the power distribution box, and I put one in, but that almost caused a total brake failure. I stopped at a green light and pulled it out, I was like "f*** that"

Great, I'm going to check fuses and relays', then hold on tight and see what happens.... previous owner probably disabled the system instead of fixing it.... great.
