ABS Light

Got a 96 XLT manual, the speedo flickers and then the ABS light comes "ON", it happens intermittently and if i pullover and switch off, then restart the vehicle the light goes out and the ABS is working again. If the speedo flickers and the cruise control is ON the cruise control is not affected. Please help we have no Ford dealer within miles but i am mechanically minded so maintenance isn't a problem if you have any checks i can carry out.

Sounds like you have a ABS sensor out, i had to replace mine too. The bad thing about it is, that you have to replace both of them at the same time so they are calibrated the same.

I replaced one hub and sensor assy 6 mths ago but the problem has just started, are there any other ABS sensors on the vehicle

Well, i'm not 100% sure, the braking electronics screw me up when i get to thinking about them

I'm sure there are, i just know that you have to replace both of them on the front at the same time.
