I have a 1998 Explorer(40k) that has an ABS light on. The brakes are fine. I checked the wiring plugs under the hood, and at the wheels. Any experiences/solutions out there?
Only thing I can think of is it could be the rear ABS sensor. It's located right on top the pumpkin and I know it has given a few Explorers some problems..
I'd pull it off and clean it first.. that might fix everything.
My ABS light has been on now for several thousand miles - is there an easy way to plug into the system to diagnose it? I know on some cars, you can jump a couple fuse terminals to get a diagnostic code to flash on a light inside.
93's have a plug near the parking brake (wire not plug) that you short out and the ABS light will flash . Newer needs a ODB II reader ... like my 95 needs ...... SUX
