Had the vehicle in the shop after my wife said she was driving and it suddenly sounded like she was driving on the front right rim. They couldn't find anything wrong with it. I was thinking it was a wheel bearing.
Over the weekend, I was driving when the noise happened again. It sounds like a jackhammer in the front right. Definitely more like the ABS activating when they shouldn't. I changed out the ABS wheel speed sensor last night in hopes of a cheap fix, but unfortunately it happened again. I believe both of the more recent incidents, I was driving about 40-50mph and went up a small incline followed by the road kind of falling out from under wheels for a split second. As the weight of the vehicle was lessened on the wheels, what I believe is the ABS started hammering away. Both times I was able to brake and pull over quickly, so I can't say I noticed any pulling to one side or anything like that.
As I pulled over, I was able to stop the noise by turning the vehicle on/off and going forward and reverse a few times. I can't say there was really any rhyme or reason to it.
The brakes were replaced by a shop about a year ago. The fluid is full. Any thoughts here?
