My front abs sensor needs to be changed(2004 Explorer), I am wondering if I can just change the sensor that is located in the hub instead of changing all the wires with it as well. Thanks in advance

Welcome aboard. I'm not sure I understand your question. Don't the front sensors come with a wiring harness and connector atached? I'm pretty sure they do. The rear sensor has the connector attached to the sensor housing so for it you don't need the harness.

Also, are you sure you don't need a new hub bearing on that wheel? Sometimes that's an early sign your bearing is going out. The way those sensors work makes them very sensitive to any wheel wobble and that can cause an ABS fault.

Its the front abs sensor, i was taking it out and it broke in half (the sensor itself), so I want to know if i can just replace the little sensor that goes into the hub or if the entire wiring assembly will have to be changed as well....

Thanks for your help

if the hub isnt bad then yes the sensor is replaced with 3 ft of wire harness.
A bad sensor might indicate a bad wheel bearing . . .
I just replaced both front hubs . . .want one? I should have two good ones?
