As an update I took it back to Ford and the same code came up saying I have a "rear center circuit failure". So all 4 wheel speed sensors were replaced again since they were out of ideas. I explained that i replaced them twice already and they were not satisfied that I did it right. I agreed to it and paid another boat load of money. Anyway it did not work. I did not get a refund or an apology. They are at a loss and so am i. I know that taking it to the Ford dealership is now not an option anymore since they are completely incompetent and are just parts changers.
I know that there are very good Ford mechanics out there, but unfortunately they are not near me. I am not trying to troll anyone either as this all really happened and actions speak a thousand words. I have been a Marine/diesel mechanic for 35 years now and NEVER did anything like this to a customer. I called Ford and was told that there was nothing they could do after contacting the dealership.
There is nothing else to change short of changing the ABS computer and wire harnesses. I got no codes for the computer and the wire looms and harnesses look visually perfect. Plus this is not a constant problem. The lights only seem to come on during inclement weather . All connectors are clean. anyway i have no traction control or ABS anymore... Thanks for the help guys...

I am having the same issue with my 2006, except it is with the R/R sensor. It has been replaced twice, problem still persists.

I was sick of the problem, so I bought an entire used ABS/RSC controller off of Ebay($107) to see if that was the issue. I tried ohming the 2 R/R sensor wires before swapping the unit and was getting inconsistant readings. I swapped units anyway, and within 5 miles the same R/R sensor code appeared.

When the problem first started happening, the ABS unit was actually applying the brakes and vitually stopping the truck at slow speeds(freaked out my wife). I'm usually pretty confident in Fords wiring harnesses, but I am leading toward a harness issue.

I need to research the path of the harness from front to rear, you cant see much of it, maybe the harnesss is built in multiple pieces and has a connector between them, possible corrosion issue.

I am the OP of this thread. I an STILL having the same problem with the ABS light coming on randomly when it rains. Today I started the truck up in my driveway. The truck was not driven in the rain and low and behold the damn lights came on again! When I took it to Ford in the past they eventually replaced all the wheel sensors (which cost me a small fortune since they have been replaced twice prior). It never worked and I just learned to live with this problem.
Recently, i did a complete brake job and found that one of my rear wheel bearings were bad. It never made a noise or showed any sign driving , but when i lifted the car the wheel moved significantly. I thought to myself: "YES!!!!"....I finally found the problem! Maybe the wheel moving cause that sensor to misread...
Much to my surprise it was not the problem. I have absolutely no idea what the problem could be at all anymore. I called Ford and they told me that i would need to change all the wheel sensors again since one might have failed....They are NEW!!! I am not going to the dealer since i have no confidence in their parts changers.
There are some outstanding mechanics here that i wish were in New jersey.
What I don't understand is that this fault can be triggered with the truck not heaving been driven in the rain...it just needs to be outside when it rains...When i looked at the sensor plugs at the wheels they are dry. When i look under the hood at the controlled it is completely dry. This problem is definitely a moisture issue so my question is: does anyone know of more harness connections that could be getting wet even when the truck is parked on level pavement? I may have a leak in the roof area since my headliner shows signs of moisture on the driver's side rear door area. could there be wires running in the roof area under the headliner?

I found 2 large elec connectors behind the bumper on the right rear side. I have to remove the bumper because it is impossible to access them with the bumper in place. The code reader says that the left wheel wheel sensor connection and center input connection lost. That sensor goes into the harness that goes into this plug. I will see what happens because if this doesn't work I am going to see whats involved in a new wire harness from the rear...

It turns out that the plugs I spoke of have nothing to do with the ABS sensors and more to do with the tail lights and trailer elec sockets, etc.
It seems the harness runs to the front and is sealed the entire way. Not really sure if the harness replacement will help, but its all I have left....
No one has any other ideas?

Ok anyone have a fix? I have same issue. Thinking broken wire ? Or module not working correctly.

Mine did something like that when the wheel hub assembly went bad. It got to a point where my vehicle would not pull from traffic lights until I removed the abs fuse. Traction light and abs lights were on. Replaced the right front wheel hub assembly, been ok for almost 2 years now.
