Hello guys!!
I am new here, and my AC system on my Explorer XLT ' 96 4.0 have stoped working since yesterday. Clutch on compressor is keeps turning on and off every couple of seconds, I bought can of refrigirant 134a and have added to my AC system on MaxAC mode when clutch turns on gage shows arrow on green
than when its off .Damn Just went to check when its on and off and clutch doesn't moves at all and on lower pressure gage reading 40pci and it does not matter if engine on or off. Any ideas what kind of tests and checks I can run. Thanks!!!

Thanks for your reply, yesterday when clutch was clicking on and of presure was going from 25 to 45 (max) filled pci, can it be a WAC relay?

How would I fill the system with another can if clutch on compressor doesn't move at all?

Man You good!!!

I did exactly as you told me. I inserted paper clip and clutch starts moving, but looks that system does not want to accept more refrigerant can gets really cold, but reading is the same when clutch is off 45pci when its on it drops to 20pci (upper green area on gauge which is low) . Can it be that switch on dryer is bad?

Forgot to mention that when I put connector back on low pressure incycle switch, clutch began to engage every 9-10 sec.And fan start blow cold air, but I think some how I need to put more R-134a in the system or it may fail again.

Leave the paper clip in there with the A/C on, then rev the engine a little. It will draw out the rest of the freon in the can. Shake the can, and turn it upside down. I hope you connected the freon supply can onto the accumulator's low pressure side, and not on the high side near the condenser. If you continue to have problems, then I would suggest replacing the orifice valve, but only if you don't have any luck refilling the system.

welcome
