AC compressor source

The compressor on my son's '97 X has seized. What's a good source for a replacement? I've seen some decent deals on ebay for new compressors and accumulators. Does anyone have good/bad experience with them? If an ebay supplier has good feed back on several thousand items, aren't they considered reliable? Thanks for your help.

I passed on the Chinese no brand compressors and bought a Visteon on ebay.

You should also replace the orifice tube when doing the compressor and accumulator.

I replaced the accumulator recently. Do I have to replaced it again?

Unfortunately, when the system is opened moisture-laden air will saturate the dessicant inside the accumulator and anytime you open the a/c system you should replace the accumulator...

You can not replace it but you will get to the point of higher system presures and lower system performance since any moisture in the system will not be absorbed...

You should also completely evacuate the system with the correct tools before adding freon and oil.
