I recently replaced my AC compressor and was so pleased to feel cool air. But now the Fan won't work...sometimes. Majority of the time the fan won't even come on at all. I can't trace any patterns as to how the fan might not be working. Either hot or cold , AC on or AC off it won't work. All the electrical connections are on tight and I know the ac is working. And the thing that really gets me is that i'll be driving, i'll have the fan speed set at high or something (after turning it on and off cause it won't work) and then it will suddenly come on.

help!!! is it a switch? a connection? anything related to the new AC compressor? or do i ne

Sounds like either a loose connection or a bad fan motor. If it is the fan/blower motor, it should not be extremely expensive. I would guess that one of the brushes in the fan motor is about worn out or the armature has a bad spot on it. When you are driving with the switch on and hit a bump, it is probably moving the fan blade just enough to get it to move past the bad spot and start running. If you can get to the blades on the fan, try turning the switch on, and reach in (CAREFULLY) and turn one of the blades. If it starts, you know it is the motor. Just use something that will not fly out and injure you.

I'm not sure if this will help you or not, but i have just run into a similiar problem with my 1998 Explorer. I have an intermittent problem with the fan slowing way down to almost no velocity when on the max/ac setting. As long as it is on the max/ac setting this occurs. However, if I set the control to the normal ac setting, the fan continues to run all the time without problems. This does not help diagnose the original problem, but it may provide a short term solution until you figure out the root cause.

i think its the fan itself mine did that too i just went to the side wrapped my hand around it and pulled or pushed which ever way it needs to be moved (do this with it on move it around and when it turns on force it to work) mine works real good beside the not blowing at full speed but i dont use the ac that much anyways just the windows and the air from the subs

Check your fan relay before you start changing out bigger parts, that is if your system uses one. I have a 92 and a couple of months ago my fan would work intermittently. Found out it was the relay. It was sticking. Check out the small stuff first before you go buy more expensive parts.
