Hi,
For a while we have been having problems with the AC, this resulted in a new condenser/compressor and coolant refilled multiple times. - 2002 Explorer XLT

What we are now seeing is that the cold air is not getting through the system. It will run hot 90% of the time, but occasionally run very cold? Any thoughts?

Maybe a restriction somewhere? What happened to the old compressor did it grenade? If so was the system properly flushed?

welcome mark where in san jose u at i am in san jose right now visitin friends and family.

When running the A/C next time, pop the hood and feel the A/C lines. There should be a black canister looking thing that gets very cold.

If it feels cold, your issue is not with the sealed system, but most likely the Blend Door.

Thanks for the ideas, my wife gets back tomorrow so i'll have a look at the AC pipes and see if they are cold,

Sams01XplrSprt - I am off meridian & Curtner, hope you are having a good time in San Jose

BrooklynBay - I can start looking at the blend door. Looking quickly through the forum, it sounds like this is between 3 hours & 2 days..... Pretty brutal

Thanks,

Mark
