Well, first off I know I have the infamous blend door problem but mine may be different. I get an intervaled hollow thumping like the blend door is slapping closed to the beat of a metronome. It will come and go (with the AC or heater system on) but one thing that NEVER comes is cold air. Even on Max AC which is supposed to bypass the blend door I just get warm to HOT air. Now should I recharge the AC and see if I at least get Max AC? Or should I assume my condensor or something is out? Any similar experiences guys?! Thanks

Sounds like the classic broken vent door? Do a quick search and there is a thread all about fixing it.

do most of you guys READ the posts before replying or whats the deal here?! I know I have a blend door malfunction but thats not the issue... read then reply again.

when was the last recharge?
are they all original parts?
have you ever messed with it yourself?
has the system ever been charged with a blend refridgerant?
have you noticed any leaks? or even looked for them? has dye been introduced to the system?

Have someone start your engine and then see if the compressor is pulling in when the AC swithch in on. If it donse't it could be the comp. or just low on refregerant and the low pressure swithch won't let it come on. You really need someone with a set of gauges to see what the low and high pressures are.

i understand you guys cant diagnose my system given the information provided. I was just hoping someone who'd experienced similar symptoms would be able to provide good hope. As for your questions, mike:
-never recharged that i know of (supposed to be a closed system, right?)
all original that i know of (bought the truck with 53K and everything looks stock)
never messed w/ AC just with stereo system wiring in the dash
what the heck is a blend refrigerant?
havent noticed any leaks, checked all the plugs I can find in the dash, what dye?
hope this helps yall, but it probably won't. thanks guys,

I took the time to read your post and reply with a suggestion. Srry it wasn't the correct one. Next time I see one of your posts I'll just ignore it then. In other words--Bite ME!!!

Come on, man, that's kind of out-of-line for here. When you start copping that kind of attitude it kind of makes people not want to help you...

Here's what you should do, flat out: 1) if your blend door is malfunctioning, get the blend door fixed FIRST
2) then go from there with testing the pressure/possible recharge.

The purpose of "dye" is to check for leaks...
