When my AC stopped blowing through the dash vents recently I figured it was a loose vacuum hose, upon closer inspection I found all the vacuum circuits were functioning properly.
The problem is a small plastic arm with a pin on the end that engages the vacuum motor has broken off. If you drop the glove box and look in towards the center, this is the upper vac motor with a red hose going to it, it opens the dash vents.
A trip to the dealer revealed that this piece is not sold seperatly, you must buy the whole blend door assembly for $375 to $400+ depending on weather it's and early or late 02 model.
The little piece that broke may not be removable, as I havn't been able to figure out how to remove it, fortunatly I did find the part that broke off, and I figure I can try to glue it back together with another piece of plastic or metal to reinforce it.
I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and if so have you been able to fix it without dismantling the whole dash?
I think it would be quite easy to fix if I could get the little piece out of there!
