Need help with AC on 2003 Sport Trac. The AC system blows warm air while in park. AC works alright when moving but cannot generate cold air while stopped and engine running. Any help is appreciated.

Not an Ac expert but it sounds like you are low on r134a due to a leak. You should take it to someone qualified to work on the AC system. You may be able to add some yourself but you could end up making things worse. Either way the leak is going to need to be fixed, system evacuated and the proper amount of r134a and oil added.

Could be low on refrigerant. Wife's Mustang did that and it was caused by a bad fan controller, Mustangs have electric fans. Point is, check your fan speed at idle. If it seems to be turning slower than the engine RPM you must have a bad fan clutch.

javs - when your in park or stopped is it warm air or just cool air blowing out (not as cold as when running)?

I would say on idle the cooling temp drops from cool to ambient outside air temp or warmer this Summer...

It's possible its low on refrigerant. Can you tell if the compressor is cycling on & off when at idle or even when the engine is at a higher RPM? If the compressor is cycling a lot, especially at a higher RPM then it's low on gas.
