Hey Everyone,

I seem to be having some problems with my AC. When I first turn it on, it works fantastically, but over time (10 - 15 min) it loses its "coldness." Air flow works fine, it's just that it becomes less cold over time and I don't know what the problem is. Could it be that it needs a Freon recharge?

Thanks!

Also, it's a 2000 Eddie Bauer V6

You need to put a set of gauges on it to see what's going on.

Have a qualified a/c tech check it out for you.

Mine does this too. Mine is due to "Black Death" you can search the forum here and find more info. You will need to have the orifice tube checked and if it has black flakes all over it you'll be needing a system rebuild with all new parts. I'm waiting for tax money to do mine. You can have the system cleaned and get a new or used compressor but the problem will be back in a year or two.

I hope yours is just low on refrigerant.
