Howdy all, just picked up a 95 XLT and been fixing it up thanks to everyone here.

Question I can't find in the search results:

Anyone come up with a crafty fix for the (center) AC registers or vents pointing to their lowest postion (towards the console, besides towards the passengers) when one hits a bump in the road?

Besides sticking paper in between the vent and vent housing? ;)

I'd be interested if someone came up with something for this too.
Mine center vents do the same thing while driving, I just don't care enough to mess with It myself yet lol.

yeah they all get this way. what i did was to take some thin insulating foam with the tape on one side, the kind you use to stop window/door drafts, and put some between the vent and the bezel. this created enough friction to keep the vent from moving, but not so much that you can't adjust it where you want. the vents just pull out of the bezel so you can fool with them.
