I have an AC problem with a 96 Eddie Bauer 5.0L Explorer. The mechanicals are fine and both the high and low switches are fine. I can drive 12v on the up stream side of the switches and the compressor works fine and everything cools great. The bummer is that I am a thousand miles from home and working in a hotel parking lot. I own a Ford CD with all the schematics and troubleshooting procedures, but it won't load on Win 7.

I have tracked down some schematics online and they reference a EATC module. I thought it was in the console, but no modules have the correct wire colors.

I ran the onboard diagnostics and it ended up with the display with all the segments turned on. I don't know if that is what they are referring to as an 888 code, but I can't seem to locate any further diagnostics or exactly where the module resides. The heat/cool display seems fine and the console readout seems fine also, but the AC never turns on.

Can anybody point me to where the EATC resides or give me some hints? Is the EATC the actual module with the buttons?
