- 98 Explorer 5.0 EB
I let my roommate drive my '98 Explorer EB and he came back saying i need to fix the acceleration. I know i need to replace the spark plug wires, and i have just havent fixed it, so i figured thats what he was referring to.
When i get in the car today the accelarator is much lower to the ground and when i push the pedal it takes forever to get to 30-40MPH. Well im in a drive thru and then the pedal comes completely loose and is just hanging but what i would guess is the throttle wire. I took a look and it looked like the wire was way too loose and it also looked liked the pedal should be bolted down, but there were no bolts on the floor.
I have no clue what to do, i basically rigged it so i could get back home but i need to drive home from school in 2 weeks and theres no way im going 200miles with a broken accelerator.
