This weekend i'm going to have to get to the gauge cluster to try and fix my broken spedometer, I was wondering what I had to do to get acess to it. I'm not sure if I have to take the whole dash out or not, of course i would prefer not to, but if that's what I have to do then I will.

First, you need to remove the facing from the front. It is just a pressed fit, so pry it carefully at the edges. Be careful with the wiring to the 4WD switch, the rear wiper, and the rear window heater. They disconnect easily once you lift the plastic catches on the sides. You will need to lower the steering column after removing the cover plates under it, no real problem, just use the correct size deep socket wrench. You will be able to see the bolts easily that hold the gauge cluster in place. This should give you a good start.
