I have a 97 Sport, my rear sags even with no load in the back. I heard they make a "add a leaf" for the 4 doors, do they make one for the 2 door sport as well? Is this something I can do myself?

NOPE !

Add-a-Leaf is not recommended for use w/ a Mono leaf . You have options though . You can change from Mono to 4dr. leaf packs and/or Shackles . I'd recomend the Warrior Products shackle Part # 153 or 353 . They are $50 take 1 hour to install and will lift your X 1.5-2" . One other cheap mod to eliminate sag and would help in a towing situation , Air shocks . ;)

Thanks, I am going to look into the shackles, I do not do much towing. Do they come with decent installation instructions?

Can't find them

Ok, I am having trouble finding that part number, do you have a link you could post for those shackles? Thanks in advance

You can see them listed through Warrior Products home page at www.warriorproducts.com but you can't buy them there. Several places sell them, but you'll usually have to call about them cause they are not listed on websites for some reason.

www.desertrat.com
www.4wheelparts.com

I think those 2 places have them. Run a search on "shackles" and you'll find plenty of information about them and where you can get them.

Don't fprget the cheepie autozone shackles. A lot of guys here use them and I've yet to here a problem with them.

Auto Zone cheapies will work fine but dam they are U-G-L-Y . If you decide to use the AZ shackles I would recommend placing some 3/4 Pipe over a bolt and place it between the hangers , through one of the extra set of holes to stiffen them up . Doesn't make sense huh , well I can picture what I am explaining , just can't put into words . Sorry . :banghead:

I relize that you are not knocking anyone with the cheepie ones;) , but I cant figure out why people have said that they are not strong enough. Mine are almost 1/4 of an inch thick.Thats at least twice the thicknes of the stock ones. Ive seen pic of the war. and they seem a litle thicker than the stock ones. The only diferance is the brace.

My question is, why isn't an add a leaf recomended for a mono leaf? i mean if you did it you would end up with half a leaf pack, lol. But why isn't it recommended, you could put it between the blocks and the mono leaf and it would add suport wouldn't it? Please help me out here. Has anyone actually tried it, is there anything stating don't do it? Please provide insight and input

There's a few old threads around here that discuss it further, but I mainly remember them saying putting an add-a-leaf on the monoleaf would over stress the monoleaf near the ends of the add-a-leaf. The increased stress might lead to the leaf bending or even breaking over time.

Ahh, here's one of the threads I was thinking of. It's a good discussion about why not to do it.

Dead Link Removed

Ahh that site is blocked from work, can someone e-mail me the info from the site?

I had a wrong link. It's fixed now. Try again.

ok, i read it and it seems that one person has done it, and if it is still installed it would be a year next month, i e-mailed him to see whats up with it

Caddybill - you have to see the warriors in person to understand how brute they really are . The stocks are thinner than the autozone style , but consider how they are built. They are all one piece and short which doesn't allow flex .

Yomie - I added add-a-leaf last year . they gave me good lift and improved the ride , but only for a short time . They put to much stress on the mono leaf and actually weaken more than w/o . The mono leaf is actually wider than the add-a-leaf and i couldn't find clamps to hold them togeghter . ;)

ahh, oh, so you took them off?
