I have a 97 Explorer (the one of three years that you can't get a lift kit for!!) I was wondering if you could use a combination of add a leaf and a torsion twist? Would that work, or would it cause too much stress and create more problems than I would like to deal with? Please let me know, thanks!

That's a really common way to do the lift on the torsion equipped vehicles. I've noticed that a few people weren't happy with the add-a leaf though. An alternate is the Warrior Shackles. They add about 1.5-2" lift to the back. The max twist you can do seems to be about 2" so that your cv joints don't get too far out of line. There are a ton of threads on this on the website. Once the search function is back up, do a search on 'tt', 'torsion' or 'Warrior' and you will get lots of info. I have the warrior shackles here, but I haven't installed them yet.

thanks for the heads up JDraper. i was going to do a search, but the search was down. thanks for the search ideas though, i wouldn't have thought of tt. thanks
