hi names mike im new here and have owned my sport trac since last august. so far i take it off road quiet a bit considering im in the black hills region of south dakota. i did a custom mounted 2nd gen hitch and that left me with a very minimal 1/4" to 3/8" gap between the hitch and shackle. issue i have is that's an awefully small gap to play with in regards to shackles so add-a-leaf sounds much more beneficial to me. i also tow a-lot as it is too so the extra pay load would be nice too.

big question is i have searched this site high and low and that includes the 20 paged lift options and im confused as to what leaf to use. also i dont know the lift i will get by them. so those of you that have done add-a-leaf lifts how much lift and what leaf did you choose.

my thoughts are Pro-comp 13120 short leafs and a torsion twist. so please let me know what you got and what lift you got out of it

Hugh (OffTrac) is the man you wanna talk to about add a leaf on the ST. He has that, a 3" BL, TT and 35's.

thanks midnight ill send him a PM

I'll be doing the add a leaf setup and going back to stock shackles after I install the new axles and gears/ locker.

issue i have is that pro comp says 1.5" to 2.5" lift on all of the stuff listed for explorers and rangers. so i would like a fellow sport trac owner that has done an add a leaf to chime in so i can hear how much lift they got and with what product

PM sent.

For those reading this later...

I got about 1.5" final after settling. That's about the same I got from the shackles. It's a little hard to say exactly because at the same time that I switched to an add-a-leaf, I also put my spare 35" spare/steel wheel in the bed at the same time. Not sure how much that sags the rear if at all, but there is definitely more weight in the back when I measured the add-a-leaf than when I measured with the shackle.

I know I'm digging this thread back up from the graveyard, but I'm looking to add a leaf to the rear. And I was hoping someone could point me to the right one for an 02 Trac 4x4. I see some for explorer and rangers, but none specifically for the Trac. Thanks in advance !
