WHEN YOU PURCHASE OR HAVE A SHOP PUT ADD-A-LEAF SPRINGS ON, CAN YOU SPECIFY THE AMOUNT OF LIFT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR, AND HOW DO THEY MAKE THE ADJUSTMENT IE. SPACERS, TIGHTER SPRINGS? ONCE YOU PUT THE LIFT ON, DO YOU NEED LONGER SHOCKS AS WELL? THANKS FOR THE INFO
A good spring shop will ask you for your vehicle's model, weight, and other specifics. They will need to take a look at your old spring pack and then they should be able to custom make your add a leaf to give you whatever extra lift you need within reasonable limits.
I've had custom springs made by National Spring for my Scout and my Chevy Stepside 4x4 and they were perfect. This was all done over the phone.
Depending on the amount of lift, upgrading your shocks is usually a good idea.
