With a new oil filter, my 4.0L takes about 4.75 quarts of fresh oil. I have several original OEM gaskets that are leaky/weepy with oil. To help the gaskets be less leaky/weepy, how much ATP AT-205 should I add? Please advise. Many thanks.

That additive may clog the hydraulic tensioners

I'd deal with the weeping oil

@donalds - Roger that and thanks. I now have manual tensioners. What else might ATP AT-205 clog... or might it be OK to use some? Thanks.

!!!Really? Oops. Id been using At205 4 or 5 oz for a while now since theres a bunch of leaks on this one... the RMS willpuddle if I let it sit a week but if I add 205 it usually is only a handful of drops.

Didnt think it would clog since its water thin? Or is it that it would swell the seal in the tensioner?

With the manual tensioner s its safer to use
Me I try to stay away from additives myself but to each their own right
Only one I use is Marvel mystery oil in my gas

+1 for MMO. That said good to know about the At205. Ill try to use next next OCI and see how much the leak annoys me haha. People always know which spot is mine in the lot at least when I dont use it. But thats the only additive Ive ever used. Maybe when I have free time Ill try experimenting with the 205.

AT-205 slowed my rear main seal leak. For about one week. RMS will be replaced when I decide to pull the engine and replace the timing kit.
I also avoid engine oil additives but the Blue Devil RMS sealer seemed to work much better for me. Odometer reads 90,000 miles.

Thanks everybody. I appreciate your insights and experiences. At my upcoming oil change, I'm going to try 5oz of ATP AT-205 and see what effect it has on my leaky/weepy oil gaskets. I'll report back.

That AT-205 has gotten expensive. Similar seal conditioners are found in good oils, and more of them in "high mileage" oil like Valvoline's Maxlife. Considering that you're in GA, I might try Maxlife 10W-40, without the AT-205 yet if you haven't tried high mileage oil.

Eek do I want to know how expensive it is now? I bought a case thru work while ago so I'm not sure if it got more expensive. At least for this one even with HM oil it still puddled hahaha

EDIT: Just checked now on AMZN its about double what I paid.

I use the Valvoline full synthetic high mileage oil in mine. Supposed to help with the leaks but I think my RMS is beyond helping.
