add-on CD changer question

Greetings all. I am planning to purchase an "add-on" modulated CD Changer for my Explorer and was wondering from those that have one, where did you mount the controller?? I do not want to do the velcro thing to the dash obviously, and was thinking of permanently mounting it into the open ash tray (non-smoker). Have any of you done this...any thoughts?

I have had one of these mounted near the sterring wheel... like on the right side of the radio... depends on the size of the controler though. At the present time my ashtray has been removed and I have installed a custom made block off plate with extra switches and warning lights in it's place. With a bit of creativity you can accomplish a lot of things... and it will still look factory made..
