Adding transmission fluid

So i had a radiator and condenser installed several months ago and it has been leaking trans fluid from the lines into the radiator. Im taking it back to the shop who worked on it to have them tighten the lines up and add some fluid back in. When i checked the level on the dipstick it was very low. I want to add some fluid back in before i drive it the the shop as i dont want to cause any more damage. My Explorer has been sitting in my garage since September as ive been away at school. Wondering if i could add some just through the dipstick hole/line since i do not have the tool to add fluid through the fill plug. Is this possible or should i just not worry about adding more and get it to the shop?

Are you getting antifreeze, and transmission fluid mixing in the radiator, and the transmission? If so, then don't fool around with that radiator. The shop installed a defective radiator, and should replace it for free. Flush out all of the existing fluid in your transmission, and don't drive it. Your 5R55E doesn't use a fill plug like the 5R55W. You have a fill tube with a dipstick.

Only transmission fluid is leaking out of the connection of a line going into the radiator. Its toward the top of the radiator, dripping down onto the ground. I just want to make sure i have enough fluid in the system to make it to the shop, 10 miles, without causing further damage. So i can just pour the trans fluid into the dipstick line?

You have to fill it with the engine on.

Thanks for the help. Just to clarify, the dipstick line is for filling? And i should just use a funnel for it.

Check the marks on the dipstick for cold & hot. Check it with the engine running while it's hot. Use a funnel, and check it on level ground.
