Depends on the compressor. On a new one, it should come off without a lot of effort, though it's easier to do if the compressor is mounted or attached to something rather than trying to do it on a loose compressor. On an old/used compressor, it can be next to impossible even with a puller, sometimes to the point the only option is destroying the pulley or a new compressor.

The right FS10 will be shimmed per specs to it's application, so there's not usually a reason to change the shims unless you're using an FS10 from some other model.

When it gets really hot outside the clutch enguages for say 1/2 hour. Then STOPS
if i tap the front of the compressor it engages again. From everything ive read this seems to be tied to a gapping problem and removing shims to regap fixes the problem.

Went out and took another crack at getting it off. tapped it with the hammer and it slid right off. Removed the only shim that was in there.. hope that fixes the problem

Thanks again to all the people who have contributed to this forum.

Fix worked like a BOSS!
