adjusting idle

I recently puchased a 98 eb, and I noticed that the idle is very low. I am used to a truck that on a 40 degree incline, it would either stay still or move slowly up hill. RIght now, my explorer has a horrible idle. At steep inclines, it will actually move backwards, as if it was manual tranny and I had the clutch in. Is there a way I can adjust it myself? I am avg if not a little below avg when it comes to engines and the like, so bare with me.

If the idle between 600 and 800, it's perfect. My truck also rolls back on steep hills. Is the idle smooth? If the truck runs smoothly at idle and doesn't change idle RPMs much, the fact that it rolls back shouldn't be a concern.

Thanks. Yes its a smooth idle. I guess i need to get used to it. IT could be that the idle on my truck was set too high.

Thats just where the truck idles pal.

If I'm not mistaken...you cant set the idle on the Explorer but someone correct me if I'm wrong.
