For my '96 explorer xlt 2wd, could I put a 1 to 2 inch body lift on it and 31" tires? Could I do this without having to do anything else (not really any off road activity), if I need to do anything else, what? Any advice would be great.:D

Well ya know, if you're not gonna off road it you could just put 31" tires on it stock and it wouldn't be a problem.

put a 3 inch body lift, 32 inch swampers and put a spool in the rear and turn her into a mudder.

The 31's will fit just fine with no lift at all. My stock 95 is sitting on them now. Though, if you wanted a little lift just to make it look better, you may want to read up on the torsion twist and warrior shackles. Both have been discussed at length here on the boards. It's just an easier, and cheaper way to get about a 1.5" lift from the suspension without having to go through the hassle of a body lift.
