Hey Guys, I am getting ready to install a roof rack on my 91'(its a sport that didnt come with a rack) so I can put a basket on it, I am going to do it by drilling into the roof about an inch or inch and a half, then silicone around the screws, I am either going to use rivited screws or the yakima plus nut. Any advice? Thanks

its pretty obvious, but make sure you pull down the head liner, when you put the screw into the rivet or the nut on, lay a nice bead of silicone on the roof metal on the underside, let it setup some, then put the screw or nut on. This makes sure you keep silicone around the hole, after the screw is in, lay some silicone on top of it, to create a leak proof area. Smooth it out some so you dont have a huge bump of silicone. I recommend for a 1/2 inch hole that you create a disk of silicone on the underside of the roof no less then 2 inches across. Trust me a leaky roof sucks..

I would also leak test it before putting the headliner back in.

good point, and dont rely on the garden hose to leak test it, goto a car wash or grab a pressure washer, and really test it.
