After Market Headlights with an added "Twist"!

Still Really like them, almost want to steal your idea, but afraid of the baking part. Did you just wire them on a completely separate circuit? Or do they come on with something else?

I was nearvouse about baking them too, but it worked out very well. Just be sure to set a timer and dont get side tracked!
I wired them to a constant 12 v so I can turn them on whenever.

I love the led's also. They look like a perfect Daylight running light alternative. Low voltage, but bright. I'm seriously considering being a copycat, but adding projector retrofit also.

I d sure like more info on the led's. Are they a strip that you glued to the inside?

they are a strip I found at Auto Zone that I glued on the inside of the lenses. The strip is only about 3/16s" thick, so when they are off noone even notices them.

Just got this pic, I love when I accidentaly get an awesome pic! lol

Im just amazed that you found a strip of super bright led's that are almost exactly the right length.

They were actualy about 2 inches too long, but you can cut them to length

Def like the look of that. Very different and unique. Kudos to you and the good looking Explorer.

I love that hood and stripe :biggthump BIG TIME!

JstCruz, since you have taken a set of these apart, can you do a retrofit projector, inside a factory light?

I have no clue about whats involved in the projector retrofit. the factory lense is not ideal for it tho. There is a thread about doing it with headlights like mine. All I can tell you is to get them apart you need to put them in the oven at 350 for about 5 minutes at a time untill you can pull them apart. I would like to do the retrofit on these eventualy, but my next step is some 18s and tires :D

On a side note, have you seen, or are you in the FLExplorers? We are all meeting in Tampa this weekend. Im in St Augustine.

I am not a member, but i have been told about the FlExplorers. i am in Tallahassee, but i don't know of any other EX members in T-Town.

that actually does not look bad

Look great I'm defiantly gonna bite off this but not copy def projectors and different placement of led and add a highway light in there

Yours look great tho with that hood
