This is with my 285/75/16 Interco TrXus M/T's. I fit them with TT and shackles. Only had to trim the inside back corner of the front fender flares. People say 33's wont fit. They only rub in the back at full flex. I will post the before pictures as soon as I can find them.

Is there any way you could get a closer up view...and maybe a shot of the tires. From what I can see, it looks great.

Here are some better pictures.

Those tires look great, anyone have any ideas of how they would be in the snow.

Aren't 285/75R16's equivalent to 32's??? I thought 33's would be 305/75R16.

According to www.4lo.com a 285/75 R16 is a 32.8 inch diameter tire. Do Interco's tires run small?? It might not be TRUE 33, but actually closer to a 32.

I think those are actually pretty close to the height of any 33 you'd find. A lot of 32's are actually only 31. 32.8 is pretty close to 33. Any word on snow handling.

We don't have snow around here so I can't tell you much about snow handling. Usually, mud tires with large lug spacing are great in the snow. As with any mud tire, they suck on wet pavement (like to slide).

I dont know of any 33 that actually measures 33 inches. Non-Metric tires are always a little smaller than advertised.

These are a good bit taller and wider than the 265's (which are 32's)I had on before.

A 305/70/16 has exactly the same height but is 12.5 inches wide.

what kind of adjustment didu have to do with the speedometer? i was interested in 31's but maybe i might look at 32 or 33's now that there are soomeone out there that had tried it. u think bfg 32 or 33 is the same size as your tire now?

just to add a few words of my own...... these don't rub much cause you installed them on stock rims...... if you put them on wider (16X8 or 16X10) rims you'll get plenty of rub up front..... that rear lower corner of the front fender will be pretty much in the way. That's due to the fact that wider rims just sit wider on the truck......

later,

(nice looks)

from a distance they don't even look like 33's...... more like 31's.....

looks nice. i agree with dre.. they don't look that big at a distance. i guess because they fill up the wheel well pretty good. they look good on there though.

What exactly is trimmed when you "trim" to make tires fit? Does someone have a pic of what and how to "trim"? It would be of great help. Thanks

Well, it's hard to tell where to trim and how much. You just have to put those wheels on and turn steering wheel....... and you cut wherever the tire touches the fender. Most of it...... I'd say 99% would be front fender rear of tire. That's usually the problem area. What I've done on my former truck was I drew a straight line up from about where the moulding on the fender is down to the bottom of the fender and used metal cutter to cut away excess metal. Then I used pliers to bend whatever edge was formed to the inside as to form a lip like it's supposed to be. Then you should paint it to protect from rusting and you can cover with a mud flap. Make sure the tire does not rub on the flap. Take extra half an inch on the fender in anticipation of suspension flex. Tire travels quite a bit upword every time you hit something (curb or something of sort). Cut away! and good luck!

Hey Dre, thanks alot. That info will be useful once i get my new tires. Thanks again.

Do you have the pictures of the tires posted elsewhere? They are not showing on this thread anymore and I'd like to see what the 285s look like on your truck as that is the size I am thinking about.
Maybe you could E-mail the pics to me if they are not posted on the web?
Thanks!
Rick

i cant get any of the pics to show...:( me want to see!

I'll post them in my "Elite Images". Check back later on. Those pages on Yahoo did not work well.....

later,

I'll see if I can find those pictures.

I found out that they did rub on the front driver's side sway bar. I also hit a pretty large bump(drainage ditch) and the passenger side front tire got a pretty large chunk cut off of it. Normally the bump-stop would have stopped the travel before it flexed that much. I just had that tire turned around on the rim and re-balanced. I wouldn't recommend that size tire with just TT unless it never went off-road. They need TT+BL+spacers if serious offroading will be attempted.

I found the pictures!!!!!!! Who wants to host them????
Any volunteers?
