from what i know in the drag racing world, twisted wedge are good....

Both are pretty much on the same field. Go with either.

there seems to be a price difference (i have found the afr's to be more $$) whats up with that?

Just a reminder, I got 10.56 in a mustang GT with GT40's. The only reason I bring this up is that even with the best headers for the X you will not have enough flow in the exhaust system for those heads. You may be better going cheap and porting the GT40's with bigger valves. Good luck!

yeah im keeping the frpp's for now even tho they suck, i guess ill get some custom ones made later down the road. how much would porting run and how modified were the heads on your mustang?

They were very modified (about 2k in porting) but that was a few years ago. Now that port job may cost $600-1k. I think you can get a mediocre port job for a few hundred and get 1.84/1.54 valves and you will be good. 25hp is not uncommon for a mild port. The best thing about the GT 40's is that they bolt right back on with your current headers. If you are cost concious at all, you will appreciate this. I think when the others chime in, they will tell you that custom headers could run you more than you think. Good luck again.

A local shop here is well known in the east Texas area for their killer GT40/GT40p/Thumper heads. I can have a set fully worked on the flowbench cut for chevy valves and 5 angle valve job out the door for $500. This will probably be more in your area. FYI- this guy has proven almost 50hp on the dyno with fully worked P heads.

And to add- you're really wasting your time on a badass set of aftermarket heads and not doing custom headers. The FMS headers are barely better than stock, and plan on spending $800+ on custom headers (i wouldnt be surprised if its closer to $1100).

oh im fully aware of the price and restriction with the headers, just havent found the right place to do it yet. right now im just doin research, imight end up getting rid of the x, just trying to weigh my options
