I was looking into a aftermarket radio...My question is do I lose my steering wheel controls?

Which model?

PAC makes multiple adaptors that will coordinate steering wheel controls with a new headunit by way of the unit's remote control function.

you can goto crutchfield.com and buy a harness for your radio to still use the steering wheel controls

not all radios have the ability to though, so check into it.

ALL the sonys do :D

What you need is a "PAC SWI-PS Sony and Pioneer Steering Wheel Radio Control Interface." Some folks on here and many folks on other forums have had excellent results with them. There are 1 or 2 similar products by other manufacturers also. Google something like "steering wheel control aftermarket radio" or some variation.

Personally, I just ordered an AVIC F900BT and the PAC adapter from Amazon (great deal BTW) and will let you know how it goes.

Depending on what model head unit you get, they can be a real ******* to get functioning properly, and then they go funny on occasion. Luckily, PAC has great support.
