I have tried searching for days now and have not got a precise answer. I own a 1996 Explorer EB with the JBL system. My questions are......1) where are the best wires to tap into on the line out converter....behind the radio or by the amp in the back? 2) Since my line out converter has only 4 wires(left and right speaker output), can I tape into the left and right "tape" wires(as shown in the wiring diagram) behind the radio. The only reason I say this is because I dont want to pull the entire back panel off to get the speaker wires!! Too much work!! Thanks in advance...I am sort of new at the system stuff!!
Thanks,
Jason

99Redlighting! What's happening?

You have a stock radio and an aftermarket? The title throws me... It sounds like you've already searched through postings on wiring, but you're new at systems? Did you already check out the projects that have been done? You could always do a reply to one of the audio projects you see, they'll respond to you. I'll post a link here in a minute... thanks! (nice to meet you!)

Fellow poster,

Here's a good place to reply... it's about a gen 1, but the people there know their stuff.

Generally yes you can... then just run your rca's back to you amp. If your system is amplified, you may be able to find the turn on lead as well. It may not be quite 12 Volts, so it's best to add a relay.
