I took this picture, these shocks are about 15,000 miles old. Is this bad?

What specifically are you wondering might be 'bad'? Rust?

yeah, the rust and the fact that the tube itself looks like it's getting corroded. I would think that the corrosion is from leaking???

They look a heck of a lot better than mine;)

Oh yeah did I mention that they were stock with 75k:rolleyes:

By the way this is my 300th post. wooo hooo for me.
Lol I can't believe I actually hung out in a forum long enough to get 300 posts.

Now back to the NW high Lakes fishermens, forum:p

Thats nothin. My rear shocks are still the stock ones, and they have 151,000 on them.

I don't thnk they are leaking. Water collects somewhat in the boot, and causes the rust at the top.
I have 7 year old Ranchos, and I pull them off once a year or so and blast them with some Rustoleum white.

Yeah, they still feel fine, but my mechanic said he thought they were going... well actually it wasn't "my" mechanic, it was the boss who likes the $$ ;)
