AHHH! INSURANCE! HELP

Well there isnt really much you can do. When I bought me X we had my fiance insure it, well women arnt as reliable as my X and we are splitting up, Called Gieco (her insuracne comapny) to get a quote.

$1200 every six months (under her it was $450)

So, even though I'm not ready to admit it yet, I guess i'm gunna have to sell it. I'll do some more looking around, but I doubt i'm gunna find a better deal

tough being a 21 y/o male.

just figured I piss and moan in public.


anyone else in my age group that has an X let me know what you pay, and who through.

I have Liberty Mutal and am 21 years old. I pay around 1300 per year for the fullest coverage with a 250 deductible for collision, and 50 for glass claims. I have had several mishaps and vandalism to my car and they have always been very prompt with cutting me a check. Always original parts, no hassles. If you have ever let a policy lapse that is probobly why it is so expensive.

Gieco is a toal rip,I called them and they told me 900 every 6 months and I am 28 with no infractions in two years.I am know with state farm and it is 650 a year for two explorers with full coverage.

Man, I've found that women aren't as reliable as my X, and that's saying something.

Anyway, yeah, Geico is a total screw job from what I've heard. I'd also stay away from Allstate, as I have heard some horror stories with them. Give some other companies like State Farm, Progressive, etc. a call and see if you can get a better quote. I'm paying $300 every 6 months, but that's here in MI (no fault state - dunno how much of an effect that has on rates), and through USAA. If anyone in your family is in the military, you can get it, and it is the best insurance company out there. What sucks is that once I move back to Cali, my rates are going to be $900 every six months. Oh well, it's worth it.

Yeah, I would shop that around. Sometimes you get better deals through groups you are affiliated with, for example: your bank or credit union, workplace, or perhaps Pitt State if you are a student. Also, check on discounts that may apply like good student, multi-policy (homeowners, renters, etc.), or multi-vehicle. The deductible amount and coverage limits also affect rates.

gieco and safe auto and the like are insurance companies made for people with poor driving records who can't get insurance elsewhere.

When you guys are comparing what each other pays for insurance be sure to factor in the level of coverage, the age of the truck, etc.

It costs more to insure a 2000 than a 1974 model.

Dang, I'm 16 and only pay $265 every 6 months for liability insurence. This is the first vehical I've ever owned and I just got my licence 3 weeks ago. I dunno what company I'm with, cuz I don't have to pay much of it, my parents pay most of it. I think it's State Farm..but that's pretty much a total guess.
