Hi folks,

My air bag light is blinking the code 32 after starting the car. It flashes the code three times and remains on. The cruise control and horn are working fine.

I searched the forum and found out that code 32 means that I have high resistance or open circuit in the driver's side air bag. Most common cause is a faulty clockspring. However, the cruise and horn are working, therefore I decided to take a look at the clockspring itself. Besides a new one costs 128 bucks!

I followed some instructions, disconnected the battery, removed the dash under the steering column, disconnected the air bag wiring, removed the air bag and then measured the resistance of the clockspring. I do have continuity in the clockspring. The resistance reading was 4.7 ohms. One minute later it was 13 ohms, and another minute later it was back to 4.7 ohms. I have no idea what the reading was supposed to be. My questions are:

1- Is 4.7 too high??
2- Is it possible to have a faulty clockspring that disabled the air bag, but the horn and cruise are still working?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help.
