So I'm cleaning the MAF putting in a new filter and thought I'd take the air horn out of the filter box like was shown in the "cleaning some vitals" thread below. Have a '97xlt sohc 4 door. How's this stupid thing come out? I don't see any screws holding it in. (guess I'm afraid to start tugging and rip something else out or screw something up.) Also does the airhorn just pull apart once you get the air box out?

Yep, just pull it out from the front. Give it some torque and it'll pop right out.

So you pull the horn out from the front but what about getting the airbox out?

If yours is similar to mine, it is held in place by large rubber grommets, pull like hell or use a prybar, should pop out

Pic looks familiar:)
It should spindlecone, I borrowed it from a post of yours from another site, but of course you knew that. ;)

Just get a good grip on that airbox and pull up and out and work it around and you'll break it loose, mine had two in the bottom and two in the fender well holding it in. It worked best to pull it loose from the fender first and then work around and pull up. Takes a lot of force but theres nothing to tear up, if the grommets pull out you can easily put them back in place. Give her hell and don't take no for an answer!!! :frustrate
